Rihanna, Janelle Monaé e Lizzo se encontram no NAACP Image Awards <3

Encontrinhos que a gente sempre quis que acontecessem! Rihanna, Janelle Monaé e Lizzo toparam na noite deste sábado (23) durante o NAACP Image Awards, premiação entregue anualmente, desde os anos 1970, pela Associação Nacional para o Progresso de Pessoas de Cor (NAACP). A honraria reconhece os afro-americanos mais influentes do cinema, televisão e música do ano.

A gente sabe que as três brilharam muito, cada uma em sua respectiva área, e por isso mesmo foram destaque na noite de gala. Nada mais justo do que parar pra fazer um registro. Uma mais deslumbrante do que a outra!

Também rolou encontro da Lizzo com o crush de todas nós, Michael B. Jordan. Ela, que não é boba nem nada, aproveitou pra tirar duas selfies com o astro de “Pantera Negra” que foi pra casa com a estatueta de Melhor Ator por sua atuação em “Just Mercy”.

Mas quem brilhou mesmo foi a Rihanna, que venceu o President’s Award, troféu mais importante da ocasião. Em seu discurso de agradecimento a embaixadora de Barbados se disse grata pela oportunidade de criar uma organização sem fins lucrativos (a Clara Lionel’s Foundation, que recebeu o nome de sua avó), bem como reforçou o sentido da união. É aquele ditado, “People have the power”.

“Hoje à noite não é realmente sobre mim, porque o objetivo é maior que eu, certo? Não é maior que nós juntos, mas é maior que eu, porque minha parte é uma parte muito pequena do trabalho. Temos trabalhado, mas ainda há muito trabalho para ser realizado. Tenho sorte de poder ter iniciado a Fundação Clara Lionel em 2012 e se há algo que eu aprendi é que podemos consertar esse mundo juntos. Não podemos dividi-lo. Não posso enfatizar o suficiente. Não podemos deixar essa desensibilidade penetrar, isso de dizer ‘Se é seu problema, não é meu. É um problema de todas mulheres. É um problema de pessoas negras. É um problema de pessoas pobres. Quantos de nós nesta sala temos colegas, parceiros e amigos de outras raças, sexos, religiões. Bem, então, eles querem partir o pão com você, certo? Eles gostam de você? Bem, isso também é problema deles.”

Quem também marcou presença foi a Angela Bassett, que saiu vitoriosa. Ficou com ela o prêmio de Artista do Ano, categoria disputadíssima em que concorriam também Lizzo, Billy Porter e Regina King.
